Tryouts
Tryout dates for U10 & U12 will be posted on the Home page and emailed to registered participants as we approach the new season.
U15 team tryouts are still tentative pending both Simley & Eagan High School coaches meetings with their STP players. We will share dates when those meetings are scheduled.
Number of teams and levels
Based on registration numbers, the committee will determine the number of teams and level placement for U10, U12 & U15 levels. Team roster sizes will be determined based on the number of players registered at each level.
Per District 8 and Minnesota Hockey rules, the Girls Coordinators will declare the levels in which those teams are placed (A, B1, B2) before each season. The committee will share the initial declarations made to District 8 in September, but they are subject to change based on the evaluators recommendations during tryouts.
Tournaments
Due to MN Hockey's rule of 35 maximum games per season, U10 will participate in three (3) tournaments, one of which will be out of town.
U12 teams will participate in four (4) tournaments, at least one of which will be out-of-town.
U15 teams will participate in a minimum of (3) tournaments, at least one of which will be out-of-town.
Coaches
While we do have some very talented and passionate parent coaches, our goal for the Spartacats Girls Hockey Program is to gain more female coaches. This does not mean we will not accept parent coaches, but we may prioritize Head Coaching positions to paid volunteers if we're able to recruit them for our teams.
All coaches interested in coaching as a head coach, assistant coach and/or goalie coach must fill out the coaching application to be considered.
