Coaching Requirements
Register With USA Hockey
Register as a member of USA Hockey. This helps us to track your progress and completion of your required credentials.
CEP LEVEL (Coaching Clinics)
- Level 1 is required for all new coaches and remains valid until you start to coaching at the Squirt/10U level or higher.
- Once you reach the Squirt/10U level you must attend a coaching clinic each year until you obtain Level 4.
- Coaching clinics must be completed by December 31st each year. It may be hard to find a clinic last minute. These clinics should be completed as early as possible.
- Coaching clinics are usually posted in August or September on the USA Hockey website.
SAFESPORT
- MUST be completed before coaches hit the ice.
- MUST be completed each season.
BACKGROUND CHECK
- Background screens are required every two seasons and expire on August 31.
